Our Story

Sarah-Leah Thompson, also known as Selah, is an artist based in Los Angeles, CA with a passion for multimedia art-making.

She has created contemporary works of art from ceramic, wood, metal, glass, and more, with a particular passion for paper.

In 2024, Selah decided to quit her office job, along with her husband, and together they travelled the world for several months.

Upon returning home, Selah Art Studio was born! Armed with a precision blade, origami paper, and glue, she set to work.

The Significance of Selah

"Selah is a Hebrew word that has different translations and interpretations, but one that I find meaningful is pause; taking a moment to reflect before moving on to the next thing.

When I create a new piece, my hope is it will act as a reminder to the viewer to take a moment amidst the hustle and bustle of our busy lives to pause; to breathe... to experience a moment of peace."

Meaning in Every Piece

Each paper collage made is carefully crafted to create art that is both visually stunning and contains depths of meaning.

Using a palette of premium origami paper, brings scenes to life ranging from serene landscapes to realistic portraits.

Be it a story or a feeling, Selah imbues her work with intention and significance, one piece of paper at a time.
